Man arrested over suspected illegal 4D operation in Bau

BAU, Nov 4: A 25-year-old local man was detained for allegedly running an illegal four-digit (4D) operation during “Ops Dadu”, yesterday.

According to Bau District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, the arrest was made at 4pm in a shoplot, in Jalan Jambusan Lama.

He disclosed that during the operation, two police officers were conducting an inspection on an unnumbered shoplot which is believed to have been used to run the illegal 4D operation.


“The suspect, which is believed to be running the illegal 4D operation in front of the shop, was arrested after the two police officers introduced themselves. He was brought to Bau police station for further action,” according to Poge in a statement, today.

Among the items seized were three pieces of paper with numbers written on them and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect has no previous criminal records and the case is being investigated under Section 4A (a) of Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. — DayakDaily
