SIBU: A man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal intimidation on his wife yesterday.
The 40-year-old man was believed to have abused and threatened his wife of bodily injury three days before the arrest following a quarrel.
The suspect had allegedly chased after her with a sharp object in his hand.
The final straw was when the victim allegedly saw a gun in her husband’s car yesterday. This prompted her to lodge a police report for fear of her safety.
Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the suspect has been detained for investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code for domestic violence along with Sections 506 and 427 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. -DayakDaily
