MIRI, May 9: Police on Tuesday night arrested a man for allegedly molesting his two young girls by poking his fingers into their private parts.
According to sources, it was not the first time such an incident allegedly occurred.
The 51-year-man was detained by the police around 11.15pm, following a police report lodged by his wife.
The wife lodged the report around 10am that same day (May 7) after one of their daughters allegedly accidently spotted the suspect molesting her sibling at their house in Tudan.
The daughters are aged 13 and 10.
When the suspect was produced yesterday (May 8) at Miri Magistrates Court, Magistrate Md Syafique Md Hilmie allowed the suspect to be remanded for six days to assist police investigations.
He will be produced at the court again on May 14.
The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children 2017. — DayakDaily
