SERIAN, Jan 16: A 70-year-old local man is suspected missing after not returning home for six days from a fishing trip in Serian.
State Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) operation center said that Bomba Serian received a call from Serian district police headquarters requesting assistance in locating a missing person at 10.20pm yesterday.
“The report was made by the victim’s son-in-law on Jan 15, because the suspect had failed to return home four days after setting off for a fishing trip to a river near Kampung Tuie Kanan in Melikin, Serian,” the statement said.
It was understood that the victim went for the fishing trip on Jan 11, 2020, and the report was made yesterday.
The victim was clad in a white T-shirt and brown pants, and has a knee problem.
Efforts locating the whereabouts of the victim are still ongoing and the operation was conducted by a team of three firefighters from Bomba Serian led by PBK I Julie. —DayakDaily.
