KUCHING, Jan 16: A new Lubok Antu clinic will soon be built to enable local residents and those in the surrounding area to have easier access to the care they need.

Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang expressed relief for the Type 4 clinic which has been approved by the federal government with an allocation of RM28 million.

“It will be built on a four-hectare land and I hope, when completed, it will be able to provide quality healthcare services to improve the standard of health of people in Lubok Antu,” he said in a press release today.

The new clinic, he highlighted, can accommodate more patients to receive everyday medical care or treatment for minor concerns.

“It will definitely help to reduce the work load in clinics in the surrounding area.

“In addition, there will also be staff quarters that are furnished and equipped with facility to provide comfort for staffs,” he added.

Jugah hopes that the visit by Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye on Tuesday (Jan 14) will bring major changes to improve the delivery of healthcare and services in Lubok Antu.

During a visit to the project site, Dr Lee also held meeting with all relevant parties on the operation and the new facility which is expected to be completed by the end of next year (2021).

He also visited the Sri Aman Hospital project site as well as the Batang Ai clinic. —DayakDaily
