Man, 29, caught with drugs by police manning MCO roadblock

The substances believed to be drugs found inside the suspect's car.

KUCHING, Apr 17: A 29-year-old suspect with a past record was caught after drugs were found inside his car at the Movement Control Order (MCO) roadblock located at Jalan Jambatan Sadong, Serian to Kuching Road on Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened around 4.15 pm when the suspect attempted to avoid the roadblock by using a small path beside the road.


The police managed to stop the suspect, and upon checking the suspect’s car discovered a plastic bag with nine small transparent packets containing substances believed to be Methamphetamine with a total weight of 5.05 grammes.

According to the police, the suspect tested positive for Methamphetamine and has a past record.

The suspect was later remanded at Serian Police station and will be investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. —DayakDaily
