KUCHING, May 8: Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Kuching adopted three babies in conjunction with World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2023 today.

All three babies, two girls and a boy, were born today (May 8) at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

Apart from that, Malaysian Red Crescent Kuching Branch also presented food gift packs to the children in the hospital’s children’s ward.

They also conveyed their gratitude to Malaysian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) who had sponsored the hampers and food packs.

According to a press statement, the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day this year themed ‘Everything we do comes #fromtheheart’ is an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of humanitarianism and recognise the individuals who make a difference in their communities.

“We want to celebrate the people in our communities, including the person next door, who often are the first ones to step up and support those in need around them.

“They could be someone at work; a neighbourhood business-owner; a Red Cross or Red Crescent community volunteer; someone at the gym, shop or market we go to; or someone living close by who has always been by our side,” it said.
