KUCHING, Sept 7: Malaysian media practitioners nationwide, including those in Sarawak, will enjoy a one-month rebate for their postpaid mobile phone bills for September.
This initiative, under the Rahmah Rebate for Media Practitioners, was announced by Federal Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil on Aug 29 in which approximately 10,000 media practitioners across Malaysia will benefit from this gesture.
The incentive is a tribute to media practitioners who are the unsung heroes in propagating the Rahmah initiative under the Malaysia Madani concept.
According to a press release issued by the Information Department today, the rebate covers the postpaid phone bills for September 2023.
It applies exclusively to media practitioners who possess a Malaysian Information Department media card and are Malaysian citizens.
To be eligible for this rebate incentive, media practitioners must update their postpaid phone number and related information by logging into their Malaysian Information Department’s e-Media system account at the following link: https://emedia.penerangan.gov.my/. This update must be completed by Sept 10.
Media practitioners are also advised to verify the expiration date or validity period of their media card to ensure they qualify for the rebate incentive.
This rebate is only limited to monthly commitment payments, subject to the terms and conditions of the telecommunications service providers involved, namely TM (Unifi Mobile), CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile and YTL Communications (Yes).
