‘Malaysia: Truly Asia’ high-speed train unveiled in China to boost tourism ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026

KUCHING, May 25: In a display of international friendship and cultural promotion, the ‘Malaysia: Truly Asia’ high-speed train was launched in Qingdao, China, marking a significant milestone in its preparations for the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) tourism campaign.

In a Facebook post, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Malaysia, Dato Seri Tiong King Sing, expressed his appreciation to China Hongqiao International Investment Co., Ltd., and Hongqiao International Cultural and Sports (Hainan) Co., Ltd. for their support in promoting Malaysian tourism.

“This train is more than just a means of transport—it’s a ‘moving invitation’ to the people of China. Each carriage is packed with the spirit and beauty of Malaysia, from the lush mysteries of tropical rainforests and stunning seaside paradises to the historical charm of Malacca and George Town in Penang, the urban allure of Kuala Lumpur’s Twin Towers, and the familiar tastes of nasi lemak, satay, and teh tarik.

“Every stop is a journey of discovery, and every moment captures the essence of ‘Truly Asia’,” he said.

He added that as Malaysia gears up for VM2026, the train is the perfect opportunity to showcase the country’s rich cultural diversity, ecological wonders, culinary heritage, and warm hospitality.

“With China as one of our key visitor markets, we hope this train journey will inspire more Chinese friends to explore and fall in love with Malaysia 🇨🇳🇲🇾.
