Malaysia registers 1,309 new cases of Covid-19 and 3 deaths

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 29: Malaysia reported 1,309 new cases of Covid-19 and three new deaths.

The information was disclosed by Health director general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a press statement today.


He said out of the total cases, 1,308 cases were local transmission while one case was imported.

With the additional new cases, Dr Noor Hisham noted the cumulative cases of Covid-19 in the country has increased to 64,485 cases.

“Kuala Lumpur reported the highest number of single day cases of 493 whereby 473 cases or 95.9 per cent are from clusters at construction sites, this is followed by Sabah with 290 cases and Selangor with 238 cases.

“There are 75 cases or 7.5 per cent of the total cases linked to clusters at temporary detention centres and prisons,” he added.

Dr Noor Hisham said there were 1,333 patients who recovered from the virus, making the cumulative number of recoveries to 52,647 cases or 81.6 per cent of the total cases in Malaysia.

He added with three new casualties reported the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Malaysia had increased to 357 people.

Dr Noor Hisham said there were 11,418 active cases of Covid-19 in Malaysia with 116 cases being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of health facilities and 42 patients on ventilators. — DayakDaily
