Malaysia records 14 new Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, July 12: Ministry of Health (MoH) disclosed that 14 new positive Covid-19 cases were reported in the country as of today, bringing the total number of cases to 8,718 so far.

According to a statement from the MoH’s Facebook page, three of the cases are import cases while 11 others are local transmissions.

“The three import cases involving a Malaysian returning to the country from Germany was recorded in Selangor and two other Malaysians from Russia (Melaka and Putrajaya).


“For the local transmissions, eight cases was reported in the Immigration Detention Depo (DTI) in Selangor (foreigners), two in Sarawak (Malaysians) and one in Sabah (Malaysian),” it said.

Meanwhile, MoH also noted that four cases involving Covid-19 has recovered and discharged from the hospital today, bringing the total number of cumulative cases to 8,519.

“Three cases are still being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), with two on respiratory assistance, and zero death involving Covid-19 was recorded today, as death toll remains at 122 cases,” the statement read. –DayakDaily.
