BINTULU, Sept 16: Some 3,000 participants turned up in full force at the Bintulu Civic Centre grounds this morning for the Malaysia Day Run 2025, showcasing unity and patriotism in conjunction with the Sarawak-level celebration.
According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, the flag-off was officiated by Minister for Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development, who is also the Minister-in-Charge of the 2025 Sarawak-level Malaysia Day Celebration, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.
Also present were Dr Rundi’s wife, Datin Sri Loretta Sawot, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki with his wife, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu, and Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben.
The event also gathered Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming, Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee, Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation) Datu Hii Chang Kee, Bintulu division resident Datu Nyurak Keti, as well as department heads and other dignitaries.

Before the run, participants joined a warm-up aerobics session, building up the energy for the 6-kilometre event, which was one of the highlights of the Sarawak-level Malaysia Day celebration.
