KUCHING, Sept 16: Malaysia Day is not merely a date on the calendar or an ordinary event, but a symbol of unity and togetherness of a diverse people who continue to live in harmony as one family under the great vision of Malaysia Madani, said Federal Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

He stressed that Malaysia Day marks the historic moment of the nation’s formation, a turning point of unity that gave birth to a sovereign country.

“I believe that heritage, arts and culture are the core identity of our nation which must be preserved and defended at all times.

“The richness of our cultural heritage is what makes Malaysia a unique destination that is respected, admired, and recognised worldwide,” he said in his Malaysia Day 2025 message shared on Facebook today.

Tiong emphasised that in conjunction with Malaysia Day, Malaysians should continue to strengthen unity and harmony while upholding heritage, arts, and culture.

He pointed out that the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 would serve as an important platform to showcase Malaysia’s strengths and uniqueness to the international stage.

“Together, let us continue building a progressive, harmonious, and prosperous Malaysia,” he urged.
