KUCHING, Nov 5: Macswyzer R. Riot, the son of Serian MP Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem, passed away this morning at the age of 47.

His untimely death has led to an outpouring of condolences from across the community and political spectrum.

Macswyzer was an active member of the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), serving as its deputy youth chief and also holding the position of SUPP Serian Youth chief.

In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof expressed his condolences to the Riot family.

“His passing is a profound loss to his family, SUPP, and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS). I hope the family finds strength during this difficult time.”

Beyond his political involvement, Macswyzer was also passionate about sports, particularly football, where he played for MARR SC, a football club based in Serian.

His commitment to the sport was evident in his active participation and support for local teams.

The Serian Division Football Association has expressed its sorrow over his passing, highlighting that Macswyzer was instrumental in founding and developing the association alongside his late brother, McAlister R. Riot, who served as the first president of the Serian FA.
