KUCHING, Aug 11: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) permanent chairman Dr John Brian Anthony has called on all party members to remain loyal and committed regardless of the outcome of leadership contests during the Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) on Sept 18 in Sibu.
“If there is a contest for leadership positions, I call on all candidates and supporters to respect the democratic process.
“Those who are not elected must remain loyal, committed, and strong with PBDS, for the cause is greater than any individual position.
“This is how we keep democracy alive in PBDS and ensure that differences in opinion do not become divisions in spirit,” he said in a statement today.
He emphasised that the PBDS Constitution is the party’s supreme guide and must be upheld by all members, from grassroots to top leadership, without compromise.
“The TDC is our highest decision-making platform, where leadership is elected and policies are shaped for the benefit of the Dayak community.
“I urge members to conduct themselves with maturity, mutual respect, and a commitment to place the party above personal interest.
“Any action that undermines unity or disrespects the party’s constitutional process will not be tolerated,” he said.
John Brian added that PBDS must show Sarawak it is a party of integrity and vision, united by its constitution and common cause to serve the people. — DayakDaily
