KUCHING, April 15: A lorry driver had to be extricated by firefighters after he was trapped in a crash involving a lorry and a car along Jalan Pending here earlier this morning, which left three people injured.
According to a TVS news report, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said in a statement that they received a distress call at 7.36am and promptly dispatched 10 personnel from the Padungan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Padungan) to the scene.
“The lorry driver was found trapped, while the driver of the Toyota Avanza managed to exit the vehicle safely,” the department’s Operations Centre (PGO) spokesperson said.
The two other lorry passengers sustained minor injuries.
Rescue personnel used specialised equipment to free the trapped driver, who was then treated at the scene by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit before being sent to hospital for further treatment. — DayakDaily
