KUCHING, Sept 23: A 25-year-old lorry driver was killed in a single-vehicle accident near Kampung Kepayang, Simunjan.
The victim, identified as Mohamad Faizul Raqib Haron, was confirmed dead at the location by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH).
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the incident at 6.50pm on Sept 22 and deployed Bomba Simunjan to the location.
The operations commander reported that the incident involved a lorry belonging to a company in Simunjan that was used to transport oil palm fruit.
Firefighters found the victim was pinned inside the lorry cabin and was extracted using Bomba Road Traffic Accident (RTA) tools.
The deceased’s body was later handed over to the medical personnel waiting at the location for further action. — DayakDaily
