Lorry driver issued 7 summonses after blackout caused by damaged electricity cable

KUCHING, March 26: The police have issued seven summonses to the lorry driver who struck an electricity cable, resulting in a blackout in the Kampung Santubong area.

Kuching District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah stated that following a complaint received about the incident on March 25, the police successfully tracked down the lorry owner.

“The Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Division under IPD Kuching (Kuching District Police Headquarters) found that company has been operating for six months, transporting soil or earth to the construction sites around the village.


“The lorry driver has been issued seven summonses for various offences,” he said in a statement today.

Additionally, the police have seized the lorry under Section 60(1) of Road Transport Act 1987 for further action. — DayakDaily
