Lorry driver injured in robbery at Siniawan

BAU, Aug 2: A 26-year-old lorry driver suffered head and neck injuries after being robbed by four men in Tanjung Durian, Siniawan.

According to Bau police district chief DSP Page Nyaon, the victim had just arrived at a chicken farm around 11.30pm yesterday, when he was approached by four men.

Two of the men came on a motorcycle, while the other two came in a green Proton Saga, he added.


“One of the men allegedly took out a machete and attacked the victim, causing injuries to his right neck and head, while another man grabbed his wallet and keys before they fled the scene,” Page said.

The victim managed to seek help from Siniawan police station before he was sent to Bau hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the case under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
