Lorry driver arrested, 240 sawn timber and lorry worth RM155,400 seized

SARIKEI, Nov 15: Police have seized 240 sawn timber with unpaid royalty and a lorry worth RM155,400 during an inspection at Jalan Entebai, Julau.

Marine Police Region 5 commander, ACP Shamsol Kassim, said the lorry driver was also arrested during the operation yesterday.

“Our officers have inspected a lorry driven by a local man. During the inspection, we found that the lorry was loaded with 240 sawn timber without any Sarawak Forestry and tax mark on it,” he said in a statement.

The lorry carrying 240 sawn timber was stopped by the police at Jalan Entebai, Julau.

All the confiscated sawn timber and the lorry were handed over to to the Sarikei Forestry department for further action. – DayakDaily
