KUCHING, May 5: A total of seven longhouses in Kanowit, Selangau and Sibu districts were placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for one week while one village in Saratok was placed under EMCO for two weeks.
According to information from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, the EMCO was the latest decision from the committee to break the chain of transmission in longhouses and villages in rural areas.
It disclosed that Kampung Melango Lama in Saratok will undergo the EMCO from May 5 to May 18.
SDMC added that three longhouses in Kanowit district namely Rh Sali, Nanga Ngungun, Rh Seliau, Sungai Tuah and Rh Inyang, Sungai Ranan will be placed under EMCO from May 6 to May 12.
There are also three longhouses in Selangau district which will undergo the EMCO from May 6 to May 12.
They are Rh Ambrose Ramping, Rh Lenggang, Nanga Tajam, Batang Oya and Rh Umin, Sungai Nirai.
In the meantime, there is one longhouse in Sibu, Rh Monica Giri, Salim-Stabau which will be under EMCO from May 6 to May 12. — DayakDaily
