KUCHING, Nov 9: Incumbent for Batu Kitang Lo Khere Chiang says he is leaving it to the wisdom of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP)’s leadership to decide who would contest the Mambong seat.

He said even though Mambong used to be under SUPP, the matter will be discussed and resolved by SUPP leaders and other State leadership.

“Mambong used to be under SUPP, but for whatever reason it is, the candidate is now from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

“So whatever it is, I will leave it to the wisdom of Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian (SUPP president), the wisdom of Abang Johari and other leaders at the top to decide.

“And whoever the candidate is, as long as the person is from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), and not foreign parties from Semananjung Malaysia, I will support,” Lo told reporters today.

Earlier, he had officiated at the appreciation programme for eight coffeeshops owners, who obtained Grade A certification for their premises, at the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) office.

Lo added the people have to trust the decision made by the leaders with regards to the Mambong seat.

Dr Sim has said that the party has submitted its list of candidates for Mambong, and also other seats for this State election.

Lo, who is the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) told reporters this after the launching of the Batu Kawa Riverbank Park yesterday graced by Abang Johari.

Present at the event was MPP deputy chairman Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim, among others.

Dr Sim said the party has also submitted its list of candidates for other 18 seats, namely Padungan, Opar, Pending, Batu Lintang, Kota Sentosa, Batu Kitang, Batu Kawah, Simanggang, Engkilili, Repok, Meradong, Bukit Assek, Dudong, Bawang Assan, Pelawan, Tanjung Batu, Pujut and Senadin.

Meanwhile, PBB during the party’s Mambong branch meeting on Sunday (Nov 7) had unanimously agreed to nominate Mambong incumbent Datuk Dr Jerip Susil as its sole candidate to defend the seat under PBB. — DayakDaily
