KUCHING, Aug 21: Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang hopes that new Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will honor the Malaysian Agreement 1963 (MA63) and return Sarawak’s rights.
According to Lo, regardless of whoever takes post of prime minister, they must make returning Sarawak’s rights a priority.
“As such, I would like to seek the new prime minister to do the same, which is to do more for Sarawak, to honor the MA63, and return what belongs to Sarawak, as stipulated under the agreement,” he said.
Lo told this to reporters after the handing over ceremony of Biaramas bus shelter to Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), in Mile 6, along Penrissen road, today.
Lo, who is also MPP chairman, noted that former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had given Sarawak RM3.9 billion in revenue (from petroleum-based products tax) and also received support from Sarawakians.
“I believe that is what every Sarawak citizen wants,” he added. — DayakDaily
