PADAWAN, Nov 19: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will implement all approved projects from funds that have been allocated to Kampung Quop at Mile 10, assures its chairman Cr Lo Khere Chiang.

Calling all the villagers to put aside their differences and work together for the benefit of the entire village, Lo who is also Batu Kitang assemblyman said many government projects were either completed, ongoing, or in planning stages.

“Our Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang, Stakan assemblyman Datuk Sri Mohammad Ali Mahmud have allocated more than RM1 million for several projects this year, such as upgrading of a multipurpose hall, roads and drainage, access road to individual houses and many more. On my side, we have also helped with street lights, culvert, and others,” Lo told reporters after a working visit to Kampung Quop today.

Kampung Quop existed since 1845 and is an extremely huge village, it is sitting in between Batu Kitang and Stakan state constituency.

“I want every villager to take note that in the years to come, as Sarawak prospers under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, a lot more development will pass down to Kampung Quop through your MP and ADUN. This village will improve.

“Of course there are on-going issues such as road, drainage, flood and others that need attention but it will be done. We just need to believe in what Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Abang Johari are doing now,” Lo said.

At her briefing earlier, Kampung Quop village chief Bonita Andrew disclosed, “Rubiah has pledged to upgrade the multi-purpose hall (RM200,000), football field (RM150,000), Jalan Kimura (RM100,000) and drainage around the multi-purpose hall (RM50,000).

“Mohamad Ali also pledged to upgrade their access road (RM250,000) and additional RM100,000 for Jalan Kimura in the village,” Bonita told Lo and his working team from MPP.

She added that improvements to the village would include solving existing problems and her committee will forward their requests or proposals to MPP and other relevant authorities as advised by Lo. -DayakDaily
