KUCHING, Jan 15: This is the latest approved flight schedules and frequencies to Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu and Limbang released by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) effective today onwards.
Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin, in a statement today, said that the Malaysian Airline (MAS), AirAsia, Malindo and Maswings have been informed on the approved flights yesterday (Jan 14).
The overall flight schedules were planned by taking into consideration the requests for flight reduction from the Divisional DMC, the limited number of hotel rooms available for quarantine purposes, the sudden spike in Covid-19 cases in the State and the imposition of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Kuching, Sibu and Miri from Jan 13 until 26 and MCO in Sibu Division from Jan 16 to 29.
“Each airline is given a different flight timing in order to assist them to have better passenger load for their flight,” he said.
Lee added that the latest information on flight schedule approved by SDMC has been released to the public via social media in advance so that the public can be fully aware of the changes to plan ahead.
“I would like to remind all airlines to only sell flight tickets according to the flight schedule approved by SDMC. This is important to provide reliable flight services to the public.
