‘Lions/KATSN Virtual Art Gallery’ to showcase paintings for sale by artists with special needs

KUCHING, March 29: Lions Club of Kuching One Earth and Kuching Association of Talent Development and Welfare of Special Needs (KATSN) today launch their ‘Lions/KATSN Virtual Art Gallery’ to showcase paintings for sale by artists with special needs.

The launching ceremony was held at Chemsains Building and officiated at by Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts of Sarawak Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew.


Speaking during the ceremony, Ting said the virtual gallery is the way forward for the artists to exhibit their artwork and to connect with larger audiences.

He said it is in line with the Sarawak government’s digitalisation approach towards its goal to become a high income State by 2030.

He also gave assurance that the Sarawak government will continue to support the creative arts industry.

During the launching ceremony, Ting pledged a RM10,000 personal donation to KATSN to assist the association.

Meanwhile, Lions Club of Kuching One Earth president Joseph Tang Sing Hong said they hoped by moving to an online virtual art gallery, it will be able to reach out to a larger audience as well as more customers locally and overseas.

He also thanked KARUNA Sarawak Web Design and Digital Agency Kuching for providing the virtual platform.
