Limbang placed under Level 1 hot weather alert, temps as high as 37°C

KUCHING, April 14: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has placed Limbang on Level 1 (Alert) due to hot weather conditions.

According to a MetMalaysia statement issued today and updated at 4.30pm, Mukah and Telang Usan have been categorised as having hot weather conditions, as temperatures exceeded 35°C and reached 37°C for at least three consecutive days.


MetMalaysia defines its hot weather alerts as Level 1 (Alert) for maximum daily temperature 35°C to 37°C for at least three consecutive days; Level 2 (Heat Wave) for maximum daily temperature exceeding 37°C to 40°C for at least three consecutive days; and Level 3 (Extreme Heat Wave) for maximum daily temperature above 40°C for at least three consecutive days.

The department further advised the public to refer to its website at www.met.gov.my and social media channels or download the myCuaca application to obtain up-to-date and accurate information. — DayakDaily
