Liaw hands over Mintred permanent secretary duties to Dzukornain

KUCHING, Sept 30: Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development (Mintred) permanent secretary Datu Liaw Soon Eng handed over his duties to Dzulkornain Masron who will take over the post effective from Oct 1.

The ceremony of handing over the duties between Liaw and Dzukornain, who is the Entrepreneurs Development Division head, was witnessed by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and SME Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais at the Mintred Office today.

According to a press statement today, Liaw, who has served in the Sarawak Civil Service for 41 years, started as an administrative officer at Kanowit District Office in 1979.


He was appointed as Mintred permanent secretary on June 9, 2009.

With his broad experience especially in the field of industry and entrepreneurship, Liaw has successfully assisted in securing various investments in the manufacturing sectors, as well as being a committed head of department.

Among Mintred’s achievements under the leadership of Liaw include Sarawak State Civil Service Quality Award (AKPAN) Gold Award, Five-Star Rating for Accountability Index, Treasury Inspectorate and Mintred Website respectively, as well as a 100 per cent score in Scorecard Management. — DayakDaily
