KUCHING, June 21: Making its debut in Sarawak, Le French Festival (LeFF) 2023 will be at Kuching GSC CityONE Megamall from June 21–25.
There will be 13 French movies for moviegoers to choose from that will be shown at the GSC theatre here with genres ranging from comedy, thriller, to drama and romance.
One of the movies which premiered tonight is an adaptation of ‘The Three Musketeers’ by Alexandre Dumas, a landmark in French literature and cloak-and-dagger novels.
LeFF 2023 will be touring across four different cities—Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kuching.
Director of Alliance Française of Kuala Lumpur, Violaine Dupic, shared that in 2023 as the Alliance Française celebrates its 140th anniversary globally, the new edition of the Le French Festival turns the spotlight on dialogue.
Dupic said they strive to curate a diverse film selection that fosters cultural enrichment, ignites creativity, and showcases characters from various ethnic backgrounds, religious beliefs, and social contexts.
“Let’s embrace the richness of French culture in all its diversity,” she said. — DayakDaily
