Lawas man escapes crocodile’s jaws by poking eyes with fingers

KUCHING, March 4: A 24-year-old man in Lawas escaped a crocodile attack by poking the reptile in the eyes with his fingers.

According to a news report from TV Sarawak (TVS), Lawas district police chief DSP Lion Tindan said the victim, who is from Kampung Siang Saing Laut Lawas, was attacked by the reptile while looking for seashells in Sungai Pelait Sundar.

“The victim managed to escape from the crocodile’s bite after poking the crocodile’s eyes several times with his fingers and was rescued by his younger brother together with several villagers who were nearby,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the victim suffered multiple injuries on his leg, thigh and body.

The victim was brought to Lawas Hospital for treatment before he was transported to Limbang Hospital. — DayakDaily
