Lawas back in green as Sarawak sees zero new Covid-19 cases today

KUCHING, Oct 11: Sarawak registered no new Covid-19 cases today while Lawas district was declared a Covid-19 green zone with no new local transmission cases emerging in the last 14 days from the district.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement noted that with no new cases reported, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remains at 751 cases.


A total of 47 patients are currently being treated for Covid-19 in hospital isolation wards.

Elaborating further, the committee revealed 28 patients are being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in Kuching, eight patients in Miri Hospital, seven in Bintulu Hospital and four in Sibu Hospital.

SDMC also disclosed there were no new recoveries and no new deaths reported today.

There were two new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases reported, with none awaiting laboratory test results.

Meanwhile, 286 Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) have checked into hotels to undergo mandatory 14-day quarantines.

There are 1,578 PUS undergoing quarantines at 17 hotels throughout Sarawak while a total of 25,796 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantines as of today. — DayakDaily
