The Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) has introduced KETEKSAJA, a mobile recruitment app designed to streamline the hiring process of foreign workers.

Launched by SBF President Dato Sri Abang Haji Abdul Karim bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, KETEKSAJA aims to alleviate the manpower shortages that have been hindering industrial progress in Sarawak.

Developed in collaboration with Sarawak Information System (SAINS) in 2022, KETEKSAJA offers a real-time database, ensuring immediate updates when a candidate is hired by an employer.

This feature enhances transparency and efficiency by updating employers in real-time when a worker is hired, preventing duplication of efforts and enabling them to focus on other available candidates, allowing industries to move forward without delays.

The app is accessible for free at www.keteksaja.com and has established offices in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri to support employers and candidates across the state.

Abang Haji Abdul Karim highlighted the favourable political climate facilitating rapid advancements in such initiatives.

He emphasised that KETEKSAJA is a timely solution to the challenges faced by industries in Sarawak, providing a streamlined approach to foreign worker recruitment.

“The point of the (KETEKSAJA) app is to make it friendly for everybody and (to) expedite the process. We (employers) cannot afford to wait,” he said during the launch of KETEKSAJA app today.

This initiative marks a significant step towards modernising workforce management in Sarawak by digitising applications and recruitment processes, offering practical benefits to both employers and foreign workers.

Also attending the launch is Deputy Sarawak State Secretary (Administration) Datu Buckland Bangik, Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) President State Council Augustine Wong Chung Ho, Chairman of SBF worker liaison task force committee Augustine Chin Lee Hin, and others. –DayakDaily
