KUCHING, Dec 19: The late Nurul Asikin Lan, also known as Amoy, was laid to rest at the Semariang Islamic Cemetery at 1pm today.
According to a news report from TV Sarawak (TVS) today, Amoy, 26, was reported missing on Dec 5 after going out with a man she had just met.
After several days of searching, her body was found in a drain on Jalan Setia Raja on Dec 15, shocking the local community.
Following autopsy and DNA test results, Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata confirmed the body was Amoy’s.
Revelations about the case have sparked outrage, with the suspect admitting that his motive for the murder was to get money to watch the Malaysia vs Cambodia football match on Dec 8.
The tragic story has sparked deep dissatisfaction and anger among the victim’s family.
The deceased’s uncle, Mohamad Nor Bohari called for appropriate punishment for the perpetrator.
Earlier, a local man was remanded to assist in the investigation into the discovery of a woman’s body on Jalan Setia Raja. –DayakDaily
