Late Masing’s stronghold of Baleh to be contested by four hopefuls

KUCHING, Dec 6: Nicholas Kudi Jantai Masing (GPS-PRS), Kenneth Lagong (DAP), Sukarno @ Iskandar Abdullah (PBK) and Koh Kumbong (PSB) are up against one another in the constituency of N64 Baleh.

The announcement was made by Election Commission returning officer Robert Liman at SMK Kapit No 2 this morning.

Arriving as early as 7am, Kenneth is the eldest son of former Pelagus assemblyman George Lagong.


He came with his proposer Igol Sibat and seconder Jimmy Munang.

Meanwhile, Nicholas is the nephew of Baleh incumbent, the late Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing.

Koh on the other hand is the brother of Hulu Rajang MP Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong.

The Baleh state constituency was held by Masing for eight terms before he passed away on Oct 31 this year.

In 2016, Masing garnered 5,272 votes in a straight fight against Agop Linsong (DAP) who obtained only 479 votes. ā€” DayakDaily
