Last phase of BPN 2.0 expedited, to commence on Jan 21

KUCHING, Jan 18: Distribution of the last phase of Bantuan Prihation Nasional (BPN 2.0) is expedited and expected to start on Jan 21.

This was an announcement made by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during his special address on the new economic package at Putrajaya today.


From this assistance package under ‘Kita Prihatin’, he said, 11.1 million recipients would be receiving payments totaling up to RM2.38 billion.

B40 families are eligible for RM1,000, B40 single RM500, M40 families RM600 and M40 single RM300.

As for Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR), Muhyiddin noted the first phase of payment would involve more than 8 million recipients.

“Families earning up to RM5,000 per month will receive RM300, and for singles with a monthly income of up to RM2,000, they will receive RM150 each,” he added.

This is one out of 22 initiatives under the Perlindungan Ekonomi dan Rakyat Malaysia (Permai) Assistance Package introduced today, with a total value of up to RM15 billion.

The package will be implemented based on three main objectives namely combating the Covid-19 outbreak, safeguarding the welfare of the people and supporting the business continuity. —DayakDaily
