PADAWAN, Jan 2: Incessant rain since new year’s eve has caused another landslide, this time along Jalan Kampung Kakas – Kiding.
State Disaster Relief Management Committee secretariat Major Ismail Mahedin said the landslide happened at 2.30pm yesterday, affecting the road railing and a part of the road.
“There was a down-slope movement of soil and part of a hillslope collapsed. Various agencies including road works contractors have been informed of the incident and personnels from Cahya Mata Sarawak (CMS) and Public Works (JKR) Sarawak are now at the scene to deal with the situation,” Ismail said in a statement.
No casualties have been reported. Road users are told to be on the alert and drive slow at all times. —DayakDaily
