Landslide leaves 120 residents of Rh Nga Ulai stranded

BETONG, Oct 14: Residents of Rumah Nga Ulai in Debak found themselves cut off after a landslide buried their sole access road yesterday.

The incident occurred in the Nga Tot area at about 8.30am due to continuous heavy rain the night before.

“According to longhouse chief Saga Unggut, 120 residents were affected. There is no alternative road for them to commute,” Betong Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Lt Mackinly Jores disclosed in a statement.

A team of four APM officers were despatched to the scene to monitor the situation.

Upon arrival, they discovered that the road was already impassable to all motor vehicles. — DayakDaily
