Landslide not deemed an immediate threat to Rh Uju Senyawan Krian

KUCHING, Nov 15: Six families from Rumah Uju Senyawan Krian in Saratok were affected by a landslide which occurred this morning.

The Saratok Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement revealed it received a report regarding the incident from one of the longhouse’s residents at 11am, and deployed a team of three firefighters led by PBK II KUP Saliman Nin Ikral to the scene.

“Upon arrival, it was found that the landslide occurred behind the longhouse which affected six doors of the longhouse, including the kitchen section belonging to the complainant.

“Based on the result of monitoring, the situation around the longhouse is deemed still safe for the villagers,” the department disclosed.

Firefighters at the scene advised the longhouse residents to move to a safer place if the incident recurs, and to immediately report it to Bomba for further action.

“No casualties were reported during the incident which affected a total of 29 individuals (14 men, 15 women) from the six families,” the statement read. — DayakDaily
