KUCHING, Sept 5: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) reminded that land premium refund for resettlement and village extension schemes will close on Oct 31.

SUPP PCB chief Wilfred Yap urged eligible land owners under the resettlement or village extension programme to urgently submit their land premium refund applications to the Land and Survey Department.

To put the message across clearly, Yap and SUPP Stampin sub-branch members recently visited residents of Stampin Resettlement Scheme.

“A lot of eligible land owners are still not aware of the land premium refund and that the deadline for the application for the land premium refunds shall expire on 31st October, 2019.

“Application forms for land premium refunds can be obtained from Land and Survey Department at Jalan Badruddin, Kuching,” Yap said in a press statement today.

He said the land premium refund policy is just one of the numerous people friendly initiatives of the Sarawak GPS government under the current leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, which caps the payable land premium at RM2,500.

“Those eligible landowners who had paid more than the RM2,500 can now apply for refunds of any land premium payment above RM2,500 from the Land and Survey Department.

“For cases where the eligible landowner has passed away, the administrator of the Estate of the deceased landowner can apply for the refund together with relevant documents,” said Yap.

He added that SUPP PCB is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing problems, or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it.

Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999, or go direct to SUPP head office to request for assistance. — DayakDaily
