Land and Survey Department halts illegal rock transport in Bintulu, heavy machinery seized

KUCHING, May 21: The Sarawak Land and Survey Department has successfully halted transportation activities related to rock materials at a site in the Bintulu Division today.

According to a press release, a total of 17 heavy machinery used to carry out the activities were seized as evidence during the operation.

The activities were exposed following a patrol that was carried out. The case is being investigated under Section 32A of the State Land Code (Chapter 81).

“It is an offence to carry out dredging/moving of rock material without a license issued by the Land and Survey Department,” the press release stated.
