La Promenade promises family-friendly Oktoberfest with live music from Sarawakian band At Adau

At Adau will headline Oktoberfest, playing two nights on Sept 16 and Oct 1.

KUCHING, Aug 26: Hock Seng Lee’s (HSL) La Promenade Mall is promising a family-friendly Oktoberfest starting Sept 16, with special emphasis on live music every Friday and Saturday.

One of the highlights would be the performances on Sept 16 and Oct 1 by Sarawak’s very own At Adau, which has been featured at the Rainforest World Music Festival for five years.

The Oct 1 performance, with tickets priced at RM79 each, will be special, with At Adau playing a full set of their greatest hits and offering a preview of their new album.

The festival will also have a dozen food vendors, anchored by three beverage tenants, namely Carlsberg Marketing, Heineken Marketing, and Elegantly Red selling beers, zero-alcohol beers and ciders.

La Promenade Mall digital marketing manager Sophia Ong said this is the mall’s first ever Oktoberfest.

“La Promenade Mall is, first and foremost, a community space for all. In planning Oktoberfest, we placed special emphasis on live music.

“We’re also ensuring the mall’s food tenants, including Sugarbun, NOMS and Taka, are part of the event,” she said in a statement today.

La Promenade Mall is situated along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway.

Meanwhile, Sarawakian Chef Achang Libat, who is the co-organiser of the recent ‘Dine With Art’ at Hoan Gallery, will be serving no-pork and no-lard meals.

Other pop-up stalls include Cloud 99, Foo Man Ting, Rume Dining, and GE Sausage.

La Promenade’s popular tenants Black Bean Coffee & Tea and Zoro will be offering special menus for the duration of Oktoberfest until Oct 9.

The fitness centre upstairs, Sweat Factory, is organising a ‘Beer Mile Run’ on Oct 2 for participants to sweat off all their beer calories.
