KUCHING, April 15: The Kuching Water Board (KWB) has completed pipe repairs and begun road resurfacing works along Jalan Perimat, near the Pos Malaysia office in Pending, following a burst water pipe that caused a large hole and significant traffic congestion in the area several days ago.
According to a press release, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng visited the site today to monitor ongoing repair efforts.
He said MBKS has been working closely with relevant agencies to ensure swift action and minimise disruption to motorists.
“We are committed to resolving this issue as quickly as possible to restore road safety and minimise inconvenience to the public,” he was quoted as saying during the site visit.
He also expressed appreciation to the Public Works Department (JKR) and CMS Roads for their swift response and support in alleviating traffic congestion in the affected area.
Meanwhile, MBKS urges motorists to remain cautious and comply with traffic advisories while repair works are ongoing. — DayakDaily
