KUCHING, July 13: The Kuching Teochew Association will hold its 160th-anniversary exhibition and Sarawak Day colouring contest from July 18 to 22.
According to the association’s statement today, both events will be held at Plaza Merdeka.
Themed ‘Then, Now, and Next’, the exhibition will display photographs with bilingual captions to showcase the struggle, contribution and participation of the Kuching Teochew in Sarawak’s nation-building, including highlights of the history, achievements and progress of Teochew in Kuching over the past 160 years.
Meanwhile, the ‘I Love Sarawak’ colouring contest will be held at the ground level of Plaza Merdeka on July 22, from 2pm to 4pm.
Among other programmes lined up for the five-day event is the Best National Costume competition for Primary 3 to 6 students, including calligraphy writing and art painting display by young and established artists.
