Kuching Street Parade 2025: Kuching to see multiple road closures from Aug 12-14, 16

KUCHING, Aug 12: Several roads in Kuching City will be temporarily closed in conjunction with the Kuching Street Parade 2025 for rehearsal from August 12-14 and on the actual day of the event this Saturday (Aug 16).

In a statement, the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) said Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg will be off-limits to traffic from 7pm this evening until rehearsal activities conclude.

On Wednesday and Thursday (Aug 13 and 14), Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Jalan Main Bazaar, Jalan Wayang, Jalan Temple, and Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman will be closed starting 6pm until completion.

As for the day of the event on Saturday, the following roads will be closed starting at 4pm until the conclusion of the event:

  • Sri Aman Roundabout/Exit from Jalan Padungan
  • Road to Sri Aman Roundabout from Jalan Ban Hock
  • Jalan Abell Utara
  • Jalan Abell/Jalan Petanak traffic light
  • Jalan Sungai Padungan
  • Jalan Padungan traffic light
  • Road to Jalan Chan Chin Ann from Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman
  • Jalan Song Thian Cheok
  • Jalan Bukit Mata traffic light
  • Jalan Borneo
  • Road to Jalan Main Bazaar at the Jalan Lebuh Wayang/Jalan Main Bazaar traffic light
  • SK St Mary traffic light
  • Jalan Temple/Jalan Lebuh Wayang/Jalan Wawasan
  • Road to Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg from Jalan Main Bazaar/Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg
  • Jalan McDougall
  • Road to Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg from Jalan Satok at the Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) traffic light

Meanwhile, the parking lot at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) and the Darul Hana Bridge will be open for those who wish to witness the parade.

The public can park their vehicles at the DUS parking lot and then walk across the Darul Hana Bridge to avoid traffic congestion and parking difficulties.

In this regard, DBKU advises road users to plan their journeys and use alternative routes to avoid congestion.

DBKU would like to thank all parties for their cooperation and welcomes the public to join in the celebration of the Kuching Street Parade 2025.
