SERIAN, Aug 19: Half of Kuching-Serian Road will be temporarily closed from Aug 19 to Sept 1 to give way for maintenance works.
The works involve the road stretch from Mile 15 Traffic Light Junction to Kuching-Samarahan Border (Mile 25).
According to a notice by Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), the road diversion will be done only when the maintenance works involving heavy machineries are in progress.
“However, the road will open as soon as possible if the works can be completed ahead of schedule to allow smooth traffic flow,” it said.
Following this, JKR Serian Division requested road users to be careful when driving along the affected road and to obey all traffic instructions throughout the construction period.
JKR Serian Division will inform should there be any changes on dates, times and areas affected.
“Road users are also advised to plan their journeys ahead if they need to travel to the said road area.”
