Kuching, Samarahan, Serian business hours to go back normal from Aug 15

KUCHING, Aug 12: Business operating hours in Kuching, Samarahan and Serian can return to normal, effective Aug 15.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced this in a statement today after examining the current Covid-19 situation in Sarawak.

Discussions with the State Health Department and the tourism industry have taken into consideration aspects of health and the economy.

On July 28, Kuching, Samarahan and Serian were grouped as Zone 1 as the three districts were labelled as red and yellow zones following a brief spike in locally transmitted Covid-19 cases.

SDMC thus imposed restrictions on the business operating hours including 24-hour convenience stores from 6am to 10pm in an effort to stop and prevent further spread of Covid-19 infections.

Meanwhile, no new Covid-19 infections were reported in Sarawak today while the status of Kuching and Serian districts have turned green to put Sarawak back as a green zone state.—DayakDaily
