KUCHING, Oct 16: The Kuching-Samarahan Expressway roundabout upgrading projects are expected to be completed by year-end.

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak Aidel Lariwoo said the physical progress of the RM72.7 million project, which involves five roundabouts, is currently at 85.2 per cent.

ā€œIt is 44.92 per cent ahead of schedule, which is supposed to be completed by Jan 10, 2024.

ā€œSo based on the current physical progress, the contractor can achieve the target of completion earlier,ā€ he told a press conference held at the Stakan constituency service centre today.

He added apart from the roundabouts, the projects include the installation of Smart System traffic lights and Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) lanes on both sides of the road from Rembus-Samarahan-Kuching. ā€” DayakDaily
