KUCHING, June 25: A total of 141 individuals were conferred Sarawak State Honours by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, during an investiture ceremony held at the Astana Negeri Sarawak today.
According to Sarawak Information Department news report, the ceremony commenced with the presentation of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C) to nine recipients, led by Kuching Division Resident, Dayang Joanita Azizah Awang Morshidi.
This was followed by the conferment of the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S) to lecturers from the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), namely Professor Dr Edmund Sim Ui Hang and Professor Dr Khairul Adha A. Rahims; Deputy Rector of Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak, Associate Professor Ts. ChM Dr Mohammad Isa Mohamadin; as well as Angeline Chia Poh Lin and Chia Swee Choo.
Wan Junaidi also conferred the Darjah Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) to 10 recipients and the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B) to 24 recipients.
Additionally, 19 individuals received the Darjah Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), while 15 others were awarded the Darjah Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K).
The highest number of awards presented at the ceremony went to the recipients of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T) with a total of 34 honourees.
The ceremony concluded with the conferment of the Darjah Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S) to 25 recipients.
Also in attendance were Sarawak Governor’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, Deputy Minister of Transport Dato Henry Harry Jinep and other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
