Kuching police issue 24 compounds for non SOP compliance

No social distancing between the customers in the premise at Carpenter Street, Kuching.

KUCHING, July 18: A total of 24 compounds were issued to 14 men and 10 women for not complying with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the government at a cafe located at Carpenter Street here on Friday night.

A team of police personnel visited the premise at 10.35 pm during a patrol along the street.

According to the Kuching District Police chief ACP Awang Din, there was no social distancing among each customer. All the customers were asked to go to the Central Police Station where compounds will be issued there.

Awang added that the premise owner was compounded for violating Rule 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act No.7 2020 and must provide a valid explanation to the Ministry of Health, Kuching Office in 14 days.

Meanwhile, Awang said action had been taken against 48 persons during the Movement Control Order (MCO) and Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) for not complying with the SOP.

He pointed out that the police will continue their monitoring to ensure all the premises and commercial centres adhered to the SOP. -Dayak Daily
