KUCHING, Dec 14: The Kuching Natural Farmers’ Market will make its comeback on Dec 21, running from 7.30am to 11am at the sheltered car park of Kuching South City Council (MBKS).
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng announced that the 22nd edition of the market coincides with the Winter Solstice celebration.
“If we see increased participation, we hope to host the market on a weekly basis,” he shared during his ShallWeeTalk Facebook live session today.
Wee also expressed plans to establish a permanent venue for the market within the MBKS jurisdiction, should it prove viable.
“This is our goal, and hopefully, we can achieve it next year. For now, the current twice-monthly market is already a significant step forward,” he added.
The Mayor encouraged the community to continue supporting the market, which features organic products sourced directly from local farms.
“What’s even better is that these products are priced reasonably,” he noted.
The Kuching Natural Farmers’ Market is more than just a place to buy fresh produce and handmade goods—it is a vibrant hub where people connect, share stories, swap gardening tips, exchange recipes, and create lasting bonds.
Unlike large supermarkets, this intimate market spotlights local producers, artisans, and vendors who are deeply embedded in the Kuching community.
It embodies a strong sense of togetherness while supporting economic growth by encouraging residents to embrace local products and fostering pride and unity among all. — DayakDaily
